OSHA training requirements in Nevada
Nevada requires construction workers to hold an OSHA-10 completion card within 15 days of being hired, and supervisory employees to hold an OSHA-30 card in the same window. If the card is not presented in time, NRS 618.987 requires the employer to suspend or terminate the worker. Verified August 1, 2026.

Nevada is one of the few states where the training itself is free: the state's own consultation program, SCATS, runs 10 and 30-hour OSHA courses at no charge.

The mandate is not limited to construction. Nevada law extends it to four industries: construction, conventions, cannabis, and entertainment.

Which course counts
For Nevada, the relevant Outreach course is OSHA 30. 6 of the organizations OSHA authorizes to deliver Outreach training online are authorized for it. Before you pay any of them, check whether the state’s free SCATS course fits your dates: it produces the same DOL card.
